 मुसला मूल के रूपान्तरण (Modification of tap root) :-

• विभिन्न विशिष्ट कार्यों के लिए मूलसला मूल रूपान्तरित हो जाती है। मूसला मूल के रूपान्तरण निम्न है-

(1) माँसल मूसला मूल (Fleshy tap root) :- मूसला मूल खाद्य पदार्थों का संचय करके फूल जाती है और फूल कर विभिन्न आकृतियां ग्रहण कर लेती है। आकृती के आधार पर ये निम्न प्रकार की होती है-

(i) तर्करूपी (Fusiform ) :- ये तर्कु के आकार की तरह फूली होती है जिनका मध्य भाग मोटा होता है तथा आधार व शीर्ष संकरा होता है।

• भारतीय मूली का केवल आधारी भाग फूले हुए बीजपत्राधर से बना होता है।  

जैसे - मूली- रेफेनस सेटाइवस (Radish-Raphanus sativus)

(ii) शंकु रूपी मूल (Conical root) :- मॉसल मूल शंकु के आकार की हो जाती है जो आधार पर ( मुदा की सतह की ओर) मोटी तथा शीर्ष भाग की तरफ धीरे-धीरे संकरी होती जाती है। 

जैसे-गाजर- डोकस केरोटा ।

(iii) कुम्भी रूपी (Napiform) :- ये लट्टटु या गोले के आकार की होती है जो शीर्ष की और अचानक पतली हो जाती है। जैसे- (I)  शलजम - शलजम में फूला हुआ भाग बीज पत्राधार होता है।

       (II) चुकन्दर - चुकन्दर में फूला हुआ भाग मूसला मूल व बीजपत्राधर से मिलकर बना होता है। 

(iv) कन्दिल मूल / साकंद मूल (Tuberous root): - यह आधार को छोड़कर अन्य सभी स्थानों पर अनियमित रूप से फूली हुई होती है तथा इसकी निश्चित आकृति नहीं होती है 

जैसे मिराबिलिस (Four 'o'clock plant)

English Translation 

Modification of tap root :-

• The root is modified for various specialized functions. The following are the modifications of the Moola root:

(1) Fleshy tap root :- The tap root swells up by accumulating food items and assumes various shapes after swelling. On the basis of figure it is of the following types-

(i) Fusiform: - It is fusiform like the shape of a spindle, whose middle part is thick and the base and top are narrow.

• Only the basal part of Indian radish is made up of swollen cotyledons.

Like - Radish - Raphanus sativus

(ii) Conical root :- The muscle root becomes cone shaped which is thick at the base (towards the surface of the fold) and gradually becomes narrower towards the apex.

Like-carrot - Daucus carota.

(iii) Napiform :- It is of the shape of a lattu or sphere which suddenly becomes thinner towards the top. 

 Like - 

(a) Turnip - In turnip, the swollen part is the seed sheet.

(b) Beetroot - In beetroot, the swollen part is made up of pistil root and cotyledon.

(iv) Tuberous root: - It is irregularly swollen at all other places except the base and does not have a definite shape.
